And you won’t have to spend a penny!

My husband has his fingers in a lot of pies right now.  Aside from school and his main paying gig, he is doing hand modeling, voice over work, acting jobs, and his real passion (for now: he would ultimately like to get into production): project managing.

Hubby has been working with an audio engineer and producer in London on various projects for well over a year now.  Hubby also has a friend from his acting days who several years ago created and directed 3 episodes of a series called “Fear of Girls.”  It was a mockumentary about two dorks dudes -who are really into Dungeons & Dragons and live action role playing games.  It was a big hit on the internets for awhile: according to Daypop.com, Episode 1 was the most blogged site in the world on February 1, 2006.   After attending a video game conference in San Francisco earlier this year, hubby had the idea that it would be great to translate the series into a video game.  He then connected the producer and the film director and they all agreed to work together.  Hubby has been working on this project since April of this year.  There have been countless Skype sessions, research, negotiations, and writing of proposals.  Hubby has been spending inordinate amounts of time, all without any up front pay, in the hopes of getting this project he believes in off the ground.

In August the team had a meeting with Microsoft.  The hope was that Microsoft would either pay the team a salary to produce the game or purchase the concept outright for a butt load of money.  Microsoft was very interested in the idea, but decided it wasn’t right for them at that time and forwarded it onto to X-Box Live.  While that potential deal is still pending, the “Fear of Girls” (FOG) team has continued to pursue additional sponsors and publishers.  Today, the International Gaming Network, which is a market for buyers to shop for intellectual movie, game, comic, and TV property, is featuring clips from the “Fear of Girls” series as well as previously unseen content.  The more hits, video views, and comments this link gets, the higher the interest from sponsors in the project.  This is a shameless request from me to you to click on the below link and, if you enjoy stuff like Dungeons & Dragons or Penny Arcade or geeky guys trying to get with chicks, watch and comment on the awesomeness of the clips.  Seriously, my husband has spent so much time on this project and if he can finally get paid for all of his work that would be awesome.  Also, I really want LASIK surgery and this is the only way I can get it.  Thank you, and I promise this will be the beginning and end to my shameless whoring days.  As far as you know.

Funny AND disturbing at the same time. ;-) Hope you get your LASIK surgery. I had it done, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.
